I have not finished the entire game yet so this does not include opinions on the ending. I am playing on the PS4 version.

Concept: (5/5) : I love the elements of suppression/slavery, but how it varied by each region. Not only in the ruler's style of leadership, but also in how the actual Dahnan reacted to their situation. In some cities, the Dahnan were "liberated", in others they lost hope to fight, and in others they turned on their own people to sell them out for money. I really like psychology elements so it was interesting to see how each Lordship impacted the Dahnan. Also, I always love an interesting love story element, and Shionne's and Alphen's polarity is very interesting. Their story keeps encountering walls, but I look forward to seeing the end result.

Graphics: (4.5/5) : The graphics were really great. I especially appreciate the watercolor art style for the comic panel side conversations as well as the backgrounds in game (like the view of far off places). I only had a few "glitchy" occurrences, but I don't know if that's my PS4 or the game. It only happened 2-3 times during some dialogues which is the only reason why I noticed, but I cannot determine what it was attributed to. If I do a replay of the game, I will see if it happens again. Maybe in the future I can upgrade to see what it plays like on the PS5, but for now, PS4 plays smoothly.

Voice Acting (5/5): No complaints. The cast is a good selection and seems to be accurate for the characters they portray. I have tried out both the English and Japanese to see which I prefer and honestly both are great. The biggest difference is with Dohalim, his voice is much deeper in Japanese than it is in English, but honestly despite the difference I think either one suits his character.

Characters: (4.5/5): I like the characters more than I was expecting to originally. When I first saw the character design I thought it was solid, but nothing really grabbed me so I was waiting on learning more about them. After playing with everyone, I love all of their characters. I love that they had a proper tank unit and that they decided to make them female. Shiorre and Rinwell are also very strong. In general, the game did a good job of having strong female characters.

Side quests/Events (4/5): I would say that overall, the side quests are mostly standard. I love all of the owls in the game. They are very funny wearing the accessories you can obtain. I have most of them already, but I seemed to have missed some around Alphen's original area so I have to backtrack for that. There are also the standard monsters that are super strong in each area, those side quests really help money wise. Overall, the side quests are along the same lines as other Tales games.

Etc.: I love the video animation for finishing the "half-way" point after the last lord. It was beautifully done and makes me excited for what's moving forward.

Overall the game is really good so far and I am looking forward to finishing it up.
