First of all, I am still making my way through the story, so I will not comment on the overall story feeling. Also, there is no English for this so don't expect it when you buy this. I am writing this review for English speakers who are interested in the game.

Graphics: (2/5) The graphics are not as great as they could be for the Switch and there are quite a few glitchy areas. There have been quite a few patches, especially in the first month and a half after the game release. I am still able to enjoy playing, but some parts it does catch my attention. I think if you want better graphics, RF4 that was revamped for the Switch is your best bet. I do love the cherry blossom street and how the leaves change through the seasons. I also love the different flowers and plants that show up around town depending on the season (ex: the sunflowers in front of the bakery and the grand tree during summertime). The thing that bothers me most in the graphics is that the background animation somewhat matches the mood of what is happening, but the prettier cutout that is at the front when entering dialogue seems sometimes random and not accurate to what is happening. I could understand this if it was localized so the dialogue might be different, but considering it is the original version, this seems like a very lazy oversight and its frustratingly noticable.

Voice Acting (2.5/5): I rate it higher than I'd like because I like the selection of voice actors. However, instead of having limited voice acting or fully voice acting, the cut off for voices seems random and sometimes cuts off mid-sentence. This is extremely frustrating.

Characters: (5/5): I like the selection of character better this time around than in RF4. This might be a personal preference, but I generally found their designs more intriguing as well as their backgrounds and personalities.

Side quests/Events (4/5): I would say that overall, the side quests are mostly standard and the events are as well. I do enjoy the new types of events that were added for this game, such as dodging the Buffalo-related monsters. This might just be my misunderstanding of how to progress, but there are 2 side quests that I cannot figure out how to complete them even though Im fairly certain I did the required action. It might be a glitch or just me being dumb.

Etc.: I wish that there was LGBTQ+ inclusion in this. It seems that the company did that for the Harvest Moon game, but not for this one. I am just confused at their choice/oversight on this issue. I wonder if they will patch this before the NA release, or if we will just have to wait for the next RF game.

Overall the game isn't bad, but it wouldn't be my choice for introducing someone to the series. There is a lot to be desired and maybe my review is generous because another company has picked up the game and this is their first original release. I hope that the game continues to improve with patches but also that the company will put in more effort for future games because it feels like they got lazy and its a bit disappointing for RF fans.
