Bought this second hand on Amazon a few years ago and was enjoying it quite a bit. But since Sony , probably as the only Camera Producer in Japan!, refuses to include the English language on their cameras sold in Japan, and because I live in Japan and do not read all the kanji's, I had to ad a language patch available on the internet! Things worked fine for me like that for more than 5 years until I recently connected a Canon EF50mm Macro with Sigma mc-11 mount convertor and the whole thing went berserk. I couldn't use the central menu button for example, so no getting into the menu to change or fix anything myself... So, send the camera to Sony to have it fixed, right? WRONG!! They, service people, quite rudely (especially for Japanese standards!) told me they refused to fix it because of the patch on there! I tried to reason with them that 1. the camera with the Patch worked fine for 5 years so that shouldn't have been the problem, AND I argued that the camera was not in warranty anymore and there for this shouldn't matter , and that I was paying costs for the repairs, so...why on earth not? BUT to no avail, they bluntly refused and send the thing back without any more assistance! SO, fellow Non-Japanese speakers in Japan, be warned that if you buy Sony stuff, and like me, want to install that English Language patch on it, YOUR CAMERA IS A TOTAL LOSS IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG WITH IT!!
