Freshly acquired from Amazon, this 58mm EXUS circular polarizer presented an irregularly shaped greenish halo all along the inner border of the front element (see attached picture). Must be due to coating that slipped through inspection at the final stage of production (somewhat untypical for Japan-made products, indeed). More noticeable when looked at a certain angle. One should expect an impeccable product from a top brand like Marumi EXUS, since it is also Made in Japan, and is pricey. I have to admit, though, that I have three other Marumi filters (all DHG Super, and larger, at 67 & 77mm), and they all came cosmetically impeccable. Sadly not the EXUS, the priciest of the bunch. Performance-wise, nothing wrong when used on my Nikkor AF-S 55-300mm lens, no issues that I could notice, see attached couple of pictures (the Venitian engravings on the wall), thus I didn't bother to return it (though one, indeed, should). Taking a star off, for pure cosmetic reasons, though I wish I could give it ***** in accordance with its performance.
