Lots of unseen material!

Even if you already have the (very rare and expensive) AKIRA Continuity 2 book, or even the book that was included with the Japanese DVD box in 2001, every AKIRA fan NEEDS this book!
There is a LOT of unseen material in the supplementary section in the back! I can't believe there were so many sketches and scenes I've never seen before! This is must more exciting than Storyboards 1.
If you're collecting ALL of the "OTOMO COMPLETE" books like I am, you were gonna get this anyway, but it's a wonderful bonus that it's a noticeable improvement over the previous printings!

この大友全集の映画AKIRAのStoryboardsが若干割高なのはカラー印刷部分があるから
とも思うが、やはり大友克洋の代表作にもなっているのでこれを「売り」にしたいという
商業的な部分での価格なのかな、とも思うけど……映画AKIRAで大友克洋を知った人やそれ
以前からのファンも、大友克洋が映画に本気になったらここまで絵コンテ描くのか!?という
驚きが詰め込まれているという意味でも「1」「2」揃えての「買い」だろう。
Storyboards 2 は映画後半の絵コンテとNGシーンなども収録されているので、大友克洋の
頭の中で、アニメでAKIRAを展開させるなら「こうしたい」を見られるので面白い。
本編の絵コンテも前半のStoryboards 1 では徐々にエンジンが暖まってきた感じの筆致で
描かれていたが、この「2」の中盤からクライマックス、ラストへ向けての熱量がその書込み
の細かさから伝わってくる。
漫画家、しかも大友克洋に本気で絵コンテを描かせるとこんなになるのか！の醍醐味がある。

没になったAKIRA発動編は、eve AKIPAとかで、アニメにならないなあ。
