There's nuggets of information in it that are pure gold. But can most beginners find them? Probably not.
That's not to say it's not well written, but you have to have a fair background as either a programmer or an artist to appreciate what is being taught.
I'd recommend this book, but definitely not to beginners.
I really enjoyed this book. Then I went to the iTunes store and downloaded a copy of his game and played it on my iPhone. It's free! And it really works as advertised. You will need to calibrate the accelerometer before you play the game; the game shows you how. And with a little practice you will be flying around the islands in no time. One negative thought about the game is that it's not apparent that you need to fly around landmarks in order to collect them. But I'm sure it's in the description if you take the time to read it carefully before you play.
