まだ序盤のみのプレイなのでゲーム内容について詳しいレビューはできませんが、偏ったレビューのみだったため修正も含めて一度投稿します。
まずゲーム中のロード時間について、私のPS4では「ほぼシームレス（待ち時間ゼロ）」でした。
その理由として、ゲームをインストールしたストレージが「SSD（USB3.0接続）」であることが考えられます。
元々このゲームは、PS5およびSwitchを主なプラットフォームとした開発環境と思われるため、ストレージは「SSD」または「SDカード」を前提に設計されていると推測します。
つまりPS4の標準内蔵ストレージである「HDD」にインストールすると、データ転送速度の違いでゲーム動作が遅くなることは容易に想像できます。
またHDDは「断片化」するとさらに読み込み速度が低下するため、インストール＆アンインストールを繰り返してきた熟練PS4の場合、動作速度が大きく低下するのは当たり前のことなのです。
※２～３年に１度くらいの頻度で内蔵HDDを初期化すると良くはなりますが・・・一般向けの手段とは言えません。（それが出来る人であれば、HDD→SSD換装をやるべき）
パソコンほどではないにせよ、同じPS4でも型番や周辺機器の違いによってゲームの動作に大きな差が生じるので、自身のプレイ環境だけでゲームの動作を判断するのは危険だと思います。
※最近ゲームの動作が遅いという方は「USB3.0接続の外付けSSD」を導入し、ゲームのインストール先を「拡張ストレージ」に設定（または移動）すれば改善すると思います。
閑話休題
現時点でのゲームとしての評価ですが、見事に「別物」になりました。ｗ
今時のゲームとしては「良くできたゲーム」になっていると思います。
グラフィックは高解像＆立体化（ねん○ろ○ど化？）、BGMもフルリメイク（＋オリジナルへの変更可）。
操作UI、ユーザー設定項目、チュートリアル機能、一通りがここ数年当たり前になっている「親切設計」を満たしていると感じました。
ただ原作をプレイしたことがある者としては、ここまでシステムが変わっていると「マリーである必要性があったのか・・・？」というのが率直な感想です。
（エリーでもリリーでも何でもオケだったのでは？・・・まぁネームバリューは低いけど）
特に驚かされたのは「戦闘、強っ！」という点。
原作（赤マリー）では最弱主人公だったマリーが、序盤ステージとはいえシアと二人だけで戦闘に勝てましたよ？！
25年も経つと色々変わるんだな、というオジィの悲哀。
あと気になる点としては「１ヶ所採取＆１回戦闘で１日経過ってどうなの？」という時間感覚ですかね。
「主立った行動は何やっても１日経過」するのは何とかして欲しいところ。
（だいたい、いつ寝てるんだ？ｗ）
「リメイクの在り方」については賛否が出ると思いますが、一つのゲームとしては十分に楽しめる内容になっていると感じました。
