With the shortage of stock I wasn’t really expecting to get one anytime soon but I’m really happy I did. I’m glad that everything thing was in order and there were no defects whatsoever. I got it within a day or two and it’s pretty great. 👍🏼

I'd been requesting the invitation for over 6 months when the confirmation came. Delivery was speedy, no defects etc.

The only thing is that it's a digital download, not the disc version. And it's region-locked, too. Meaning if you're a foreigner living in Japan, and you have an existing PSN account from your home country, you'll need to create a new account for Japan. This is because Sony locks your PSN account to one region. If you want the game to pop up on your original account, you'll need to get a disc version.

There are probably workarounds for this, but I'm not smart enough.

If you have a US PSN account, I’d advise just buying the console. The Horizon code only works with Japanese accounts. Didn’t know that when I bought it.

ようやくAmazonで購入できたのでレビュー。
2020年11月に発売して買えるまで約2年待ちました。

各所で濃いレビューが色々あるので今更ですが
PS5の評価をしておくとゲーム機としては非常に優れていると思います。

グラフィック性能(GPU)はPS4の約5倍、PS4 Proの約2倍。
CPU、メモリ、ストレージ、すべてが前世代の性能を凌駕しています。

特にカスタムSSDによるゲームの起動、ロード時間の短縮は
ゲーマーなら誰しもが感動するでしょう。
またNVMe M.2 SSDスロットが1つ空いており、
市販の対応するSSDをそのまま簡単に増設できるのも助かります。

DualSenseも今までにないコントローラーの体験を
させてくれてゲームへの没入感を高めてくれます。

ディスクドライブ有なのでUHD BDの
再生機器としても一役買ってくれます。

等々ここまではPS5のゲーム機としての良さを書きましたが、
タイトルにも書いた通り発売当初は騒がれた次世代ゲーム機でしたが
今ではその魅力がほとんどありません…。

販売・供給・転売問題など色々ありますが、
私自身がそうなのですが、これだけ買えない期間が続き、
でも綺麗なグラフィックでゲームがしたいという思いから
ゲーミングPCを組んだため、今ではほぼPCでゲームを買うようになりました。
(実際にここ数年でPCゲー人口はかなり増えました)

PS5が必要ないと感じたのは
「魅力的なPS5独占タイトルがほとんどなくなったこと」です。
昨今ではサードパーティーは疎か、
ソニー(子会社含む)自体がPCゲー市場にゲーム展開を始めているので
「PS5じゃないとできない！」というゲームがほとんどなくなりました。
(実際にPS5ではグランツーリスモとデモンズソウルくらいしか遊んでいません)
果たしてこの先魅力的なタイトルが出るのでしょうか…。

また、オンラインマルチプレイにおいても
クロスプレイ(異なる機種間での対戦)が主流になりつつあり、
PS5でクロスプレイをオフにしてマルチプレイしても人口が少ないせいか
中々マッチングしないこともしばしば…。
どうせクロスプレイをオンにするならPCでプレイしたほうが有利ですし…。

ここまでつらつらと書きましたがPS5自体は良いゲーム機だと思いますし、
PSPlusなどのサービスを利用すればお得にゲームを遊べたり、
Amazon Prime Videoや色々なサブスク配信サービスの再生も可能です。
購入予定の方は4K対応のモニター、テレビがあれば
PS5の真価を発揮できるので尚良しです。
