17回目の夏、地方都市——。
コミュニケーションが苦手で、俳句以外では思ったことをなかなか口に出せないチェリーと、
見た目のコンプレックスをどうしても克服できないスマイルが、ショッピングモールで出会い、やがてSNSを通じて少しずつ言葉を交わしていく。
ある日ふたりは、バイト先で出会った老人・フジヤマが失くしてしまった想い出のレコードを探しまわる理由にふれる。
ふたりはそれを自分たちで見つけようと決意。
フジヤマの願いを叶えるため一緒にレコードを探すうちに、チェリーとスマイルの距離は急速に縮まっていく。
だが、ある出来事をきっかけに、ふたりの想いはすれ違って——。

この映画も賛否両論あるようで、私も最後ちょっと強引かなぁと思いましたが、まとまっていていいと思いました。ネタバレしない程度に書いていこうと思います。
脚本/監督はフリーで四月は君の噓で有名なイシグロキョウヘイ氏。
この方は甘酸っぱい恋を描くのが非常にうまい。
スマイルはザ・現代の女の子って感じですが健気で真面目。チェーリーは真面目な男の子って感じですが、それ故にいろいろ考えてしまっていうタイミングはあったけどなかなか引っ越しについて言い出せなかったり邪魔が入ったり。四月は君の嘘でも本当は体が悪いのにそれを隠すかをりを絶妙に描いていらっしゃいましたが、本作でもそのムズムズが見ている人に対して展開を甘酸っぱくしていますね。
作画に関しても申し分なし。登場する場所も多くなく、限られていますが圧迫感や物足りない感じはありませんでしたし、キャラクターはかわいい。
一度ネット配信などでご覧になることをお勧めします。

レコードの割り方が無理矢理とか、福祉施設に復帰した母親は引越すのか引越さないのかどっちなんだとか、引越しする日なのに会う約束をするのは何故なんだとか、自分だけ一人で後から引越ししろよとか、しょうもない疑問を次から次へと積み重ねてくる脚本にウンザリさせられた。出っ歯という存在を肯定的に扱った点だけは好感が持てる。
