20時間ほどプレイしましたが凡作というのが正直な感想です。

エイリアンのゲームを求めて購入したなら
一定の満足を得られると思います。
しかしTPSゲームを求めて購入したなら
平凡な内容と不安定なオンライン環境に
恐らく不満を持つでしょう。

端的に言うと、
地球防衛軍レベルのグラフィックで表現された世界で
ギアーズのキャラを操作するレフト４デッドです。
３人チームでエリアを進んでいき、定期的にエイリアンの群れが
湧いてくるので全滅するまでその場にとどまり、再び進んでいくという感じ。

アイソレーションと違いホラー要素はほぼありませんので
バイオのようなホラーＴＰＳ路線を求める方は要注意。
プレイヤー達はゼノを駆逐する為に完全武装したプロ軍人であり
本部との通信状態も良好です。任務途中で本部に帰還することも可能です。
ゼノモーフ達もこちらを怖がらせる気は全く無く、
他のＴＰＳ同様、普通に正面からワラワラと進行してきます。

ゲーム全体を通して、「進む」「２～３種類の武器で攻撃する」
「回復する」以外にやることが無いので、
とにかくエイリアンの世界でゼノモーフを撃ちたいという強い欲求が無いならば
長く遊ぶのは辛いかもしれません。

アイソレーションでは、エイリアンは圧倒的な脅威そのものであり、
１体１体がラスボスのような重みを持っていましたが
このゲームのエイリアンは地球防衛軍のアリそのものです。
その為、映画における孤立感や背後に忍び寄られる恐怖は
このゲームに求めてはいけません。

全体的なクオリティも地球防衛軍レベル。
酷くは無いが極上ではないグラフィックと敵の挙動。
大混戦だと組み付かれてるのに自キャラと敵の位置がズレてたり、
まれにエリア外に敵が引っ掛かかり
全滅させることができずに詰まったりするのも同様です。

それでも地球防衛軍は
中毒性のある武器集めや特徴が大きく異なる兵科、
声だけでしか登場しないのに愛着が湧くモブ達等、
繰り返しプレイしたくなるポイントが沢山ありますが
このゲームの場合は
種類の少ない似たような兵科と装備、
状況説明だけの単調な通信等々、
中毒性という意味では若干弱いです。
そのせいか、steamで販売しているTPSに
良くできた『ALIEN 　MOD』を導入したような印象を受けました。

怖いのは苦手だけどエイリアンの世界観が大好きで
銃を撃つのも大好き、という人を楽しませることができる
『良いキャラゲー』ではありますが
『良いTPS』とは言えません。

※エピソード１のエリア１をソロ初プレイ時、エリアの敵を全滅させた後
　発生するべき進行イベントが発生せず、進行不能になりました。
　協力プレイ用のゲームシステムの為、中断ができず
　最初からやり直しになってしまいました。

その他に目立った粗は特にありませんが、過去の名作ＴＰＳに匹敵する要素は
特に見当たりません。良くも悪くも並のＴＰＳ、並のエイリアンゲームです。

TPSシューティングとしての基本的なアクション性、ゲーム性は問題ない出来だと思うのですが
ほぼオンライン専用とも言っていいゲーム作りなのにマッチング関係がひたすらストレスが溜まる仕様

1)このゲームはステージ・難易度を選択して同じ条件を選択してるプレイヤーを探してマッチングをする形式
ルーム式や難易度だけ選択してステージはどこでもいいみたいなクイックマッチングみたいな選択肢があればいいのだが
上記のマッチング形式しかないのでそもそも始めるまでのマッチング難易度が高くイライラする

2)海外の回線相性が悪い人とマッチングするとゲーム開始までのロードに10分かかるとかザラ
やっとステージが始まってもラグがキツく画面がストップしてる最中にダメージをもらいまくるのでゲームにならない

3)ステージ進行中に3人のうち誰か一人でも回線が切れると解散して拠点に戻される
クリア直前でも回線切断したプレイヤーに代わってNPCが補充されるみたいなことはない、無情

4)せっかくやる気があって回線相性も問題ないメンツが揃って1ステージクリアしたと思ってもそのまま続行の意思確認がとりづらく数ステージ続けて同じチームで遊ぶことが困難
（ここはフレンド間でパーティ組むことで解決できるのでしょうが野良プレイヤーには不親切）

せめて地球防衛軍シリーズみたいなルーム式のマッチング形式をとってれば上記のようなイライラもなかったのになぁと感じた
