可愛らしいイラストで油断させておいてから、なかなかのきついゴア表現がたっぷり登場するゲームです。やはり洋ゲーだけあって、日本のゲームと感性がちょっと違う感じでしょうか。見た目は可愛いんですけどね、見た目は。
ストーリーはラブコメ風でとっつきやすいです。最後らへんはラブコメを通り越してヤンデレまみれになりますが。そういうところも含めてギャップを楽しめるかどうかがこのゲームの評価の分かれ目です。
ちなみにレーティングはCEROCですが、大の大人がプレイしても結構衝撃的な場面があったりするので、小さなお子様が勝手にプレイしないよう要注意です。

あと補足としては、特にパッケージをコレクションしたいとかではないのならば、DL版のほうが安く買えます。そのへんはお好みで好きな方を購入してください。

総合的には値段以上に満足できるゲームです。普通のゲームとはちょっと違う、不思議で刺激的なゲーム体験を求めている方におすすめです。個人的には文句なしに星5評価です。

インディーズPC作品として一時話題になった『Doki Doki Leterature Club』に、サイドストーリー等の追加要素が盛り込まれた後発版。本編ゲームのみならPCがあればSteamで無料でダウンロードできる（コンシューマ機では本プラス版のみ）。

さて、本作は一見よくある和製恋愛アドベンチャーに見えるが、バリバリの海外製である。しかも中身は恋愛ゲームではなく、サイコホラーと銘打たれている（ゲーム開始前に再三警告される）。
ただ、やはり日本という環境に身を置いていない外国人による製作の限界か、日本人ならすぐに違和感を覚える描写がところどころにある。
日本を舞台にしていながら、背景の家屋が現実の日本にはありえないような珍妙な（一見日本風に見える）デザインだったり、学校の教室内や廊下のデザインも一般的な日本のものというよりは、やや海外的である。また、作中では漫画やアニメが「子供っぽい趣味」とされて日陰者扱いになっている描写が度々あるが、日本では漫画・アニメはサブカルの域を超えてもはや一般的な趣味になっており、高校生が漫画やアニメを見ているからといってバカにされるようなことはほぼありえない（というか、ほとんどの学生なら漫画・アニメを見ているだろう）。
とはいえ、全体的な雰囲気やキャラデザは日本のギャルゲーの伝統（？）に沿っており、パッと見では海外製には見えない。このようなゲームが遂に欧米からも出てきたことに、軽い衝撃を覚える。

サイドストーリーを除く本編部分のみなら、PCがあれば無料でプレイできるわけだが、にもかかわらず本作をコンシューマ版でプレイする一番のメリットは、翻訳だと思う。
オリジナルの『Doki Doki Literature Club』は公式で日本語対応をしておらず、Steamでは有志による（公式公認の）翻訳パッチが配布されている。
しかし、おそらく有志の翻訳チームにはネイティブの日本語話者がいないのだろう、日本語として不自然な表現がかなりの頻度で散見する。意味は通るのでプレイに支障が出るほどではないが、気になる人は気になるだろう。
その点、本コンシューマ版「プラス」の日本語翻訳は商業レベルであり、誤字脱字等は一部あるものの、日本語としての水準はかなり高い。キャラごとの個性もちゃんと残されており、違和感なくプレイしたいのならコンシューマ版をお薦めする。
ただ、PC版なら無料でプレイできるし、PC版を含めて有料版にしかないサイドストーリーは本編ゲームとは直接関係がなく、内容的にもサイコホラーではなく全くの別ものである。なおかつ、ネタバレになるので詳述は避けるが、本作はPCでプレイすることに（自分のPCにゲームフォルダを作成することに）一段の意味がある。ゲーム本編をPCで無料でプレイして、気に入ったらプラス版を購入する、ということも十分選択肢に入るだろう。
なお、PS4版/PS5版のみ、一部シーンの流血表現に規制がある（血の色が異なる）。ゲーム体験の心理的効果に違いが出るほどではないし、本当に些細な違いでしかないのだが、一応書いておく。Switch版では規制はない。

サイドストーリーを中心とする追加要素のためにお金を払う価値があるか、と言うと、正直即答しかねる。
プレイすれば解るがサイドストーリーの舞台は本編とは別世界であり、本編とは異なるif的な展開で、そこではサイコホラーではなく真っ当な青春ドラマが展開される。「青春と文芸」のテーマ通り、思春期特有の「自分らしさ・人間関係の葛藤」などの問題が内省的に描かれる。場合によっては多少説教臭く感じる向きもあるだろう、また（製作者である）大人が成人後の視点でこれらの問題を見つめ直しているとも言えるため、ややもすると描かれるメインキャラ達に歳相応のリアリティが足りないように見えるのが難点か。BGMの製作者も本編とは異なり、ストーリー的に言っても音楽的に言っても、本編とは全く雰囲気が異なる。
本編ゲームのサイコホラー要素に惹かれた人がサイドストーリーをやっても、「違う、これじゃない」となる可能性はあるだろう。

ゲーム本編は、ゲームという媒体のインタラクティブ性を追求した、挑戦的なビジュアルノベルである。
作品としての仕掛けが面白いのであって、ストーリー自体に深みがあるかというと、あまりそうは思わない。
例えば『シュタインズ・ゲート』などが刺さった人には面白く感じられるだろうし、考察好きな人にも楽しめるだろう。逆に深い物語性を追求する人には、あまり訴求しないかもしれない。
ゲームとしても、ごく短い。
本プラス版には初回特典が付いたうえで3,000-4,000円となっているが、内容的にはやや高いと感じるかもしれない。
コンシューマ版の日本語訳でプレイしたいだけであればダウンロード版の「プラス」を1,900円で購入するという選択肢もある。
総じて、このパッケージ版はファン向けのアイテムという印象である。

Product in very good conditions and this version have multiple languages, including english and spanish. Excellent game. On the other side, I don't like the extra content came outside of the box and with risk that you can lose it (american and european version have the extra content inside the box)
