I bought this set along with the luigi version for my son as a Christmas gift.
I had played with lego as a child and had fond memories! Things have clearly moved on since the 80's as you now use an app for instructions on how to build the set! The fatal error I made was unpacking both sets, along with another from a family member and chucking them in a box together. When we came to start building I realised that each different part is bagged up separately and numbered!! This resulted in a lengthy search for all the right bits. My son lost interest fairly quickly but I powered through and was able build several sections.
Would definitely recommend the set but perhaps for slightly older child. Good value for money.
