『ダッシュ!四駆郎』がけん引した80年代後半の第一次ブーム、そして『爆走兄弟レッツ&ゴー!!』の大ヒットによって社会現象にまでなった90年代後半の第二次ブーム。
2013年にタミヤ公式レース「ジャパンカップ」が復活すると、大人になったミニ四レーサーが復帰して人気が本格的に再燃。
