This delightful lift-the-flap book with a surprise pop-up at the end will lift your spirits no matter how old you are or how under the weather you feel.
Andreas Nemet and Hans-Christian Schmidt have worked together on three books for the very young. This is their first book to be published in the United States.
The story is about a little elephant that trips and bumps into a coconut tree which is why the coconut fell in the first place on his head. This is a lift a flap book and shows all his friends trying to help him and cheer him up. His friends the mouse, monkey, bird, hippo and ostrich all try and make him feel better but no matter what they do he still has tears. Finally kissing him makes him feel better.
I love the fact that his friends showed concern by patting him, blowing on his lump and doing everything they could do make him better but nothing worked until they kissed it better. At the end when you lift the final flap you see his happy smile.
My daughter loves when I kiss her boo-boo's to make her feel better and if you do this with your own kids as well they'll understand the concept of the story. It's a really cute story and I give it 5 stars for the lesson it teaches.
