Web: 2027 マスマーケット – 1999/1/1
THE WEB: 2027 depicts a world very different from ours. Life is dominated by the Web - a global cybernetwork of virtual worlds. And no-one's lives are dominated more than the children's - most of their schooling is in the Web and nearly all their leisure time is spent there. The Web has become big business. But there are pressure groups who see its influence as insidious, evil even. The actions of one ageing technocrat are about to make the worst fears of the doomsayers come true. And the children of the world are in the front line.

Much Better Than I Thought!
2017年7月9日に英国でレビュー済みAmazonで購入
I was quite sceptical when I bought this, but I'm a fan of Maggie Furey's Artefacts of Power series so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm not normally a fan of short stories, but I really enjoyed this book! Six stories by different authors, but linked by a common theme of the web/virtual reality sounds like a recipe for disaster, but there isn't a bad story in here. Although they're different authors, there are common characters in the different stories and the concept works well. I recommend this book to anyone interested in science fiction/fantasy genres, I think you'll find it an entertaining read - I certainly did!

Fantastic GameLit / LitRPG collection
2022年6月16日に英国でレビュー済みAmazonで購入
One of the oldest litRPG / GameLit sets of short stories! I loved The Web series as a kid, these are all stories written during the VR craze of the 90s, they're cyberpunk stories for kids and young adults from different authors and they're quite entertaining, there's also a second collection and they were originally sold as small separate volumes too

Weird crossing of cultural norms
2013年9月3日に米国でレビュー済み Amazonで購入
When I first read this book I immediately picked up on the fact that this book was written from the perspective of an adult writing about preadolescence in the Web Age, the dialogue was hokey and contrived and the motivations of the main characters didn't feel right, also on the culture end British authors should be mindful of the fact that, if you're writing about an American protagonist remember we don't use kilometers as measurement we use miles, and there were other snafus like that throughout the book, if you want to present a more global culture as I believe this technology as the capability of creating you have to steer away from the cultural identifiers, unless you are referencing a unique perspective shared between two of the characters, overall, it is a decent summer read, but my mind kept wondering off thinking I could have wrote a more engaging novel that encompassed all age demographics, instead of a narrow focus on the young gamer demographic
