A smooth masterpiece by the Quincy Jones of of our generation.2019年4月15日 - (Amazon.com)
Anderson .paak hits this album out of the park. I didn't expect a follow up to his 3rd (and phenomenal) album Oxnard so soon. When one listens carefully, it is clear Anderon .paak knows musical arrangement and composition as well as many of the top music producers today (Don Was, John Leventhal, Danial Lanois). On his 4th album, he adds and changes the formula a bit (as he does with every album since Venice) exploring new musical ground while not straying too far from it. Anderson. paak brings back all of his old influences from techno funk, rap, rock, pop but ventures farther out into soul on Ventura conjuring up influences like Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield, and Marvin Gaye. Instruments such as Saxophone and string arrangements are more prominent on this album making it unique yet Anderson .paak all the same.
Anderson Pak did his thing always been a fan of his music. Glad Oxnard did come out with Ventura.2019年4月13日 - (Amazon.com)
I am so glad Anderson Paak gave better album. So soulful with seventies vibe of music. Anderson first debut with Dre Oxnard felt more Dre approach with Anderson lyrics. My God this new album is amazing. Anderson gives soul and RB to Aftermath he will go very far. Andy does collabo blend well with other artist. Only one song felt been longer. Tribute Nate Dogg was nice for final track reminded me of Kendrick dedication tribute to Tupac. Ventura was Anderson all the way album wise. Glad Anderson fought putting out this album. Glad neither Oxnard or Ventura a double disc originally suppose to been no lie.
A breath of fresh air2019年4月17日 - (Amazon.com)
I've been a fan of Paak's for a years now I will die on the hill that Malibu is one of my favorite albums of all time. That being said Ventura sounds a lot happier/more uplifting that Oxnard did. I won't say Oxnard is a bad album by any means but it was a much different sounding album compared to Venice & Malibu. Ventura without a doubt brings that Malibu feeling back, top to bottom those Malibu basslines are back. Without a doubt I've been enjoying this album and it's pulled me out of my mourning of Nipsey Hussle. If you're a fan of Paak and especially that Malibu album do your ears a favor and pick this up.
