To start off the main character "V" is great. He is not the average, do good, save everyone super hero, but instead borders on being a terrorists. Throughout the novel the books shows him doing both good and bad things such as blowing up building, killing people and so on. You also see him as saving people. Like I said, he's sort of both a hero and a terrorist. What makes this even better is seeing the other side of things, the government he's fighting against. That just makes you think more about who he really is.
Next is Evey, the 16 year old girl that "V" saves in the beginning of the story. I love her character the most because she really goes through the most changes, and I love seeing how she grows and develops into and adult, and I especially love what she does at the end. (I won't have any spoilers here)
Last character I will go into is "The Leader". The leader seems like a "Hitler" type character. He seems cruel, prejudice, and just seems to hate everyone who is well, different. You really hate him, but what this book does, actually the book does this with all the character is show them as humans, not as horrible people. Especially with "The Leader", it really shows him as more tragic than evil. It gives a really interesting perspective and I think it was done so well.
Next I'll talk about the story telling. The storytelling the entire way through was very well done, and I honestly think this being a graphic novel makes it even better. The artwork, theme, setting, story, and tone all go together so well, and it looks amazing. The artwork is dark, and not always clear, and even seems like a movie sometimes with the way it switches scenes constantly.
The story itself is really good. It starts with revenge, but as you get to know the character "V", you find out it is so much more. Throughout the whole novel you are constantly questioning V's methods, if what he is doing is really good or is bad. He could be the bad guy and that is really what makes this story great.
Overall I highly recommend this to anyone. This story, book, characters, and setting is great. And the art style of the comic blends it all together really well. I especially recommend this to anyone who has seen the movie V for vendetta. V for Vendetta
