Great story and characters known for the classic trilogy.
Story takes place between New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back and goes paralell with Vader Vol.1 with a bit of cross-over. It's no way confusing but rather fun to read the contact points in these two volumes.
I liked the artwork very much, it gives a lot of dramaturgical peak points, so as the textwork is superb.
I definitely will get the other volumes following this one, my favourite era of the whole SW universe and as I'm not an obsessed "single issue collector" I'm happy to have the thematically arranged volumes on my shelf.

I thought this was going to be rubbish compared to the final star wars series that dark horse comics did written by Brian wood , but was pleasantly surprised by it and would recommend it to any star wars fan. Good art and story and they have written the character well .

A very well-told tale following the destruction of the first Death Star. Most of the dialogue is well written, though Threepio's is a touch overdone. I also find it hard to believe that Vader knows the rebel who destroyed the battle station is nearby through the Force, but doesn't figure it could be the guy with the lightsabre. I mean, come on. And there's a bit too much coincidence around Luke and Boba Fett arriving on Tatooine at the same time - what are the odds? And some repetition of things we already saw in the OT that would make those filmic moments less impactful had these events occurred on screen first. Other than those little issues, which aren't as big as they probably seem here, this is great fun, and a good start.

Having read the dark horse star wars comics throughout the years i was reluctant to to start a new with the new marvel continuity, but having caved in i find in pleasantly surprised enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to giving the other volumes a gander.
