Writer of relationships. Amateur connoisseur of scotch. Would-be squirrel tamer. Sharon Gerlach lives on the dry side of Washington State and pens novels about the complexities of relationships: the good, the bad, and the unpaid bills.
Kind of combining four books in this review...I just re-read the author's books Office Politics and The Secret Dreams of Sarah-Jane Quinn (Harper & Lyttle books 1 & 2 respectively) for the third time. Book 2 is definitely on my list of favorites. They both sat on my Kindle for a while until I decided to give them a go, and boy was I glad I did. I always get a bit bummed out when I finish a mini-series, wishing the author would continue with the story, especially when I fall in love with the characters. I happened to venture over to the author's Goodreads page to see if there was ever any mention of additional books in the series. I was scrolling through her list and came upon the Blackberry House books - a total duh moment when I realized they were linked to the first two books. I was beyond thrilled. Sharon has a way of fleshing out characters and the ability to write from multiple points of view without confusing the reader. Five stars on all the books in this series and I want more please!

I know when I love a book because i want to read it all over again once I'm finished. Simon Says is one of those books. The emotions and reality of Simon Says is similar to those of Sarah Jane Quinn but a full story of its own. If you love Gus then you will love Simon...Promise. And I promise YOU WILL LOVE THIS BOOK! The story is being told by present day Luci to a friend with past POV by Luci, Simon, Markus, & Josef. Well written and very easy to follow. The situation of each character is/can be you, a family member, friend or the person you sit next to on the bus. So, what are you waiting for...buy Simon Says. Enjoy!! THANK YOU MRS. GERLACH!!
As always, the author gives us an enjoyable look into the life of the Haldemann family, a large, loving and sometimes fighting family of brothers, sisters, inlaws, kids, and the mom and pop we all wished we had. Lots of yearning, loving, confusion and hot kisses.
