From the #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author Susan Mallery, read the second irresistible installment in the Happily Inc. series!
Mathias Mitchell's easy smile hides a world of hurt. After the worst kind of family betrayal, he moves to Happily Inc., California—the wedding destination town supplies a steady stream of bridesmaids, perfect for his “no promises, no pain” lifestyle. Yet he can't stop watching for his beautiful, elusive neighbor on the animal preserve behind their homes.
Gamekeeper Carol Lund knows she's not special enough to attract an alpha male like Mathias, so his offer to help her adopt a herd for her lonely giraffe is surprising—and his determined seduction, even more so. But just as she finally welcomes him into her bed, his careless actions crush her heart. Will she give him a second chance to prove she'll always come first in his heart?
Don't miss You Say It First, the first book in Happily Inc.

Carol Lund has been busy with her animal reserve. With her Father and Uncle, she has managed to save several different species of animals. Her pride and joy is Millie, her giraffe. She wants to bring in more giraffes so Millie won’t be lonely. A lonely giraffe will not live long. Carol’s life is full; but living in a town known for weddings, she longs for a family of her own.
Mathias Mitchell lives next door to Carol’s animal reserve. He spends his time of a morning watching Carol feed Millie. He feels the need to create a statue of Millie out of glass and has been trying. However, he has worked with glass in the form of plates, etc. for so long that he can’t seem to get the effect he wants in glass. However, for once, he keeps trying. He used to work in glass until his Father broke all of his work. Since then, he hasn’t tried until now. Also, his “twin” and he found out they weren’t twins but half-brothers. Mathias’ mother took Ronan in as her son and the two were brought up as twins. Now, Ronan is running from everyone. The two moved to Happily Inc together but now Ronan found a house in the hills and stays there most of the time. Mathias and their brother Nick work together in a shop here in town. Their other two brothers are not artists. Mathias decides to help Carol fundraise to bring new giraffes into the reserve and pay for them. Will they raise enough money to bring the giraffes in? What will happen when their Father comes to town and starts to cut down their work as usual. Will it ruin the fundraiser? Will Mathias ever see past his own past to find love?
Mathias seems like the easy going kind of guy, but he is not only just that.
He is trying to cope w/ a family betrayal,
His father is a piece of work. Self-centered + a bully
The mother is not better. Instead of protecting her children, she always side w/ her husband.
She comes off as a loving mother, and you can feel that her sons still love her.
To me, she is part of the problem.
He bullies his sons in front of her, and she does nothing. That was not okay.
Carol is a gamekeeper, and the preserve just acquired a giraffe, Millie.
Millie is lonely, and Carol is trying to raise money to buy a herd for Millie.
Matthias helps Carol and in the process, they fell in love.
I loved this story, with an exception.
I can't wait to read Ronan's book.
Now you all probably think I’m crazy, you’re probably right. I wish, for pride’s sake, that I was pregnant and could blame it on hormones. But NOPE. Not pregnant. Just very in love with another book by Susan Mallery.
If you can’t tell from everything above, I HIGHLY recommend you read this and any other book by Susan Mallery. Happy Reading!
I loved how we had visitors from Fools Gold, Eddie, Gladys and Mayor Marsha. Loved Millie and Sophie too. This was a fun read that had plenty of laugh out moments. I highly recommend!!
