Well presented, with a great deal of thought gone in to outlining the difference between the online world and the richness and depth found in the p&p world (Wizards of the coast take note, this is how a fanstasy p&p game should be presented, yes yes I know they used their system but that's where the simularity ends). A worth while supplement providing both an interesting read and very useful source info for Eq GM's. A shame that all the artwork is in black and white but not a amjor issue. If you enjoy p&p roleplaying in the EQ world then Freeport is probably where most of you cut your teeth in the online variation so defintely a must have.
Just started running an EverQuest RPG campaign; this book really fleshes out the environs and personalities of Freeport, its citizens, and the towns and villages of the Commonlands.
I took a star because the faction quests are really dull. I can't imagine any adventuring group really wants to sit around and catch fish in the Temple of Marr fish pond. But that's fine.
This is a gaming supplement for the EverQuest Role Playing game, a conversion of the online MMOG into D&D 3.5 ruleset.
The book covers significantly more than just the city of Freeport; it also has the Commonlands, the Ro Desert, and a great deal of background and information including the Ocean of Tears. A very useful book for allowing GMs to add a huge section of land to their campaign.
