Late '80s..1987. The decade of music plays on with this release from Pebbles. If you were a teenager or growing up in the late 1980s, then it would have been near impossible to miss her signature song from this album "Girlfriend" on the radio. Her video from this song constantly played on MTV, when at that time, MTV actually played music videos for hours upon hours. This album also featured the songs "Mercedes Boy" and "Take Your Time" which were also played on rotating radio spots. The "Girlfriend" song is the extended version, not the radio version, which is good. All in all, not a bad initial release from this late '80s singer. Her future albums had hits as well.

I remembered Mercedes Boy, when it was played in the night clubs I used to frequent, back in the eighties. I always wondered what the album would be like to hear, after all these years, & I can report, its actually quite good. With the likes of Baby face, Paul Jackson jr, Micheal Sembello, & L A Reid, featuring, its probably not going to be a dud. Pebbles has co written four of the tracks, & obviously has an ear for a catchy hook. She had the looks, & sound, a kind of cross between 'Janet Jackson & Karen White. After all said & done, sonic ally it didn't change the R&B landscape, much, but it's still worthy of a nostalgic catch up.
