Definitely a must have for any pagan!2020年1月19日に英国でレビュー済み
The Dagda is very popular in today's pagan community. I always like that Morgan tries to get down to the history and this book tops it! There's many obscure words which she gives possible etymologies. Very impressed by the knowledge and wealth (no pun intended ;) ) of knowledge in this book.
I've read a number of Morgan Daimler's books, and this falls within her standard- it's short, concise and a perfect introduction to The Dagda. I read it in a few hours. It's easy to read, there's a pronunciation guide, resources, and sources cited. Morgan seems to make no effort to sway the reader in one direction or the other, instead presenting the information and allowing the reader to make decisions and interpretations on their own. She concludes each chapter with her own experience, but it does not overwhelm or take over the book. It's a good start for beginners to The Dagda, and a good resource to have on hand for anyone who works or wishes to work with him.
Great resource on The Dagda...2018年10月30日にアメリカ合衆国でレビュー済み
This is a great book for people who are starting out getting to know The Dagda. It’s one of the only sources that I’m aware of at the time of this writing that brings all of the information together into one place. Its easy to follow and cites plenty of resources that the reader can choose to follow up on in more depth. It’s a wonderful introduction to a God that hasn’t really had much literary attention paid thus far. And Morgan does a great job of noting what is fact (as in, can be found in the source material), what is speculation across scholars, and what is her own opinion. The reader is never dictated to and is encouraged to follow the information further and come to their own conclusions on the parts that are less clear from the original lore. This is true for all of the books I’ve read by Morgan.
A Fantastic Introduction to The Good God2019年10月15日にアメリカ合衆国でレビュー済み
The Dagda is one of the most important figures in my spiritual life and Morgan Daimler has written a perfect introduction to him. Covering The Dagda from his names, stories, associations, and modern representations, readers unfamiliar wth the good god will get to know him quickly. Even I learned a few things, and I have had the Dagda in my life for years now. Thank you for this great book, Morgan!
Another Great Resource2021年6月23日にアメリカ合衆国でレビュー済み
Morgan has once again done a fantastic job of compiling resources and laying out a great introduction, ancient and modern, to the Dagda. He is a god that's a little harder to find accurate information on, especially on the internet. I would personally recommend this to anyone interested in learning about him.
