The Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 General Ledger Essentials exam is designed for individuals who possess a strong foundation and expertise in selling or implementing Oracle E-Business Suite General Ledger Financial Management solutions.
This certification exam covers topics such as: how to access and navigate the R12 E-Business Suite, how to enter data, retrieve information in the form of a query and access online help.
Candidates must also demonstrate knowledge of Oracle General Ledger Process, Accounting Setup Manager, Ledger, Basic Journal Entries, Accounting Setups, Summary Accounts, Advanced Journal Entries, Advanced Security, Financial Budgeting, Multi-Currency, Consolidations and Period Close.
Clearing the Oracle Order Management Certification will not automatically lead you to a job. However a Certification with some project experience will certainly open a lot of doors for you. The consultants who will benefit the most from a certification are the ones with typically less than 2 year's project experience. This is not to say that consultants with higher experience will not benefit, but at that level, having a certification matters much less.
So if you have little or no Oracle Receivables experience, you should get yourself certified, get some project experience, and then the whole of the Oracle applications World is open for you to explore.
Helping you with the first step on you ladder to success is this book!
The authors have over 20 years' combined experience with Oracle Applications, and have been helping students across the world enter into the challenging field of Oracle Consulting.
Also, authors, to some instance, have replicated in the book what you can find in Oracle documentation (implementation guides, users guides, etc) for free.
In summary, it is OK, it does help to study for the exam, but honestly I do not think I would have passed had I depended only on this as a study resoource.
There are good questions on general ledgers, journal entries, and accounting setup examples, basically all topics that you need for the General Ledger Certification.
I found this book incredibly thorough.
The questions in the book are very similar to what you may get on the actual test.
And finally there is no other book which seems to cover this information.
Overall, very big help for the test.
