One Week ’Til Christmas: The perfect holiday romance! (English Edition) Kindle版
‘Absolutely fell in love with this book!… I just couldn't put it down!… The perfect Christmas read!’ NetGalley reviewer, 5 stars
Two people. One chance meeting. Seven days to Christmas.
Isobel Bennett is waiting for the number 11 bus when a man quite literally falls into her lap. Snow is falling, Christmas lights are twinkling, and a gorgeous man with dark brown hair has just slipped on ice and is now pressed against Isobel.
Isobel knows she’s not imagining the chemistry between them. But then his ride arrives and, embarrassed, he beats a hasty retreat, murmuring apologies – and Isobel realises only too late that she didn’t manage to catch his name…
When she runs into him again the next morning, she decides it’s fate.
It’s a second chance for Isobel and Tom – but there’s only one week until she’s leaving London for good. Seven days of enjoying all the festive delights the city has to offer: ice-skating at Somerset House, mulled wine on the Southbank, Christmas shopping at Liberty.
There’s magic in the air and mistletoe in the trees – but what will happen when the week is over?
For fans of Josie Silver, Lucy Diamond and Marian Keyes, this is one Christmas romance you don’t want to miss!

C’mere! Come sit *pats seat*.
I’ll let you all in on a not-so-secret-secret – in RL I don’t have a romantic bone in my body. Yet, books are another matter entirely, I soak romance up like a sponge. *giggles* Shh! It’s our secret, right? *winks*
So, OWTC was everything my swoony-loving heart could ask for (but remember, secret!).
Plus, the cherry on top (even though I hate maraschino cherries – bleurgh!), was the festive setting. I’m about all things Christmas at the moment (sixth book in and counting...). Side note: The Mommy thinks I’ve become a casualty of the Pod people *snorts*.
This is only the second book I’ve read by Belinda Missen, but Isobel and Tom’s story has just cemented my love of her writing. Reading this book was effortless. I just got carried away with the ‘what ifs?’, possibilities and romance of it all. While all the time keeping everything crossed for a HEA.
Prepare to experience the magic of Christmas, and with each turn of the page, fall in love with two characters who’ll steal your heart. The festive feeling is well and truly alive in the Nelson household.
I can’t wait for the Christmas markets to open in George Square. It’s a feast for the senses and all the twinkly lights make my heart sing. And, I’m craving freshly fried churros with chocolate dipping sauce from the food stalls.
Sorry, I went off on a tangent there...
Anyhoo, if like me, you enjoy a festive read (or dozen) this time of year then make sure and add OWTC to your list.
Now, *taps chin* any chance of finding a Tom waiting for me under the tree on Christmas morning?
Huh, I doubt it either.
She gets into a tangle with a dashing stranger (Tom) on the first day, and when she comes across him the next day, she wonders if it might be fate.
The pair continue to enjoy each other’s company in a jam packed week of activities. I liked the friendly light-hearted banter between Tom and Isobel, but there was always an underlying frisson between them. The only problem is Isobel is due to return to Melbourne for Christmas.
The 3 hour read is filled with festivities in London – Christmas markets, ice skating, Winter Wonderland, Liberty’s and lots more. All the usual landmarks get mentioned too so if you want a trip around London in a book, you might like this.
One Week Til Christmas is a pleasant romance that is easy to pick up and put down in between chores, or just read in one sitting in a lazy afternoon.
One Week Till Christmas made London seem like the most romantic place in the world to be at Christmas. Belinda Missen really captured the magical festive atmosphere and beautifully incorporated so many traditional Christmas activities such as outdoor ice-skating, visiting the Christmas markets, seeing the Nutcracker ballet and enjoying mulled wine. You could sense that here were two people who were clearly made for each other and the chemistry between them fizzed off the page. But with lifestyles which meant it would be very challenging to maintain a relationship, it was hard to see how there could maintain a relationship. Despite all the challenges, it seemed to me that Isobel represented normality for Tom, someone who wasn't fazed by his fame (didn't actually know who he was really) and just enjoyed getting to know the real him.
One Week 'Til Christmas is a gorgeous love story and at just under 200 pages, perhaps this is one you can fit in during these last few days before Christmas. There were scenes to make you laugh, scenes which would give you a lump in your throat and at least one which was worthy of any romantic film. This is a joyful book which will fill you with the Christmas spirit, make your heart sing and restore your belief in true love.
Isobel is in London for just a few days and plans to do everything that is festive and fun while she is there. What she doesn’t expect is to be bowled over (literally) by up and coming actor, Tom. When the two meet the fireworks fly, and there is no stopping their attraction. The feelings they have for one another bounced off the page, and you really felt the emotions develop. It was a wonderfully written love story.
I did think, to begin with, the writing style was a bit wacky, and the wit and innuendos took a bit getting used to. At first, I thought they were a little bit overdone, and I just wanted the pair to have a normal conversation. However, as I delved deeper into the book, they didn’t bother me as much, and things did calm down a little.
By pure accident, I started to read this one week before Christmas and was super excited about the timing. I was a little disappointed though to find out it actually spans over ten days before Christmas, so the book’s title is a bit inaccurate. I felt a little cheated out of my perfect timing and excitement.
For such a short book the characters were really well developed, I felt like I got to know them both in-depth and like I said I’m still thinking about the pair of them a couple of hours later. The drama and development were very well executed and fit in perfectly with the story.
Overall, this was a perfect Christmas read. It really made me want to hop on a train to London and soak up the atmosphere and everything it has to offer at this time of year!
The story is set around two people, Isobel & Tom, who have a haphazard chance meeting and only seven days until Christmas.
It is mainly set in London(and a little bit in Australia) and we get to experience all the magical festive delights the city has to offer. All the typical Christmas activities - ice skating at Somerset House, Christmas shopping at Liberty, lots of Christmas markets and mulled wine on the Southbank - all of which help to set the Christmas atmosphere.
There’s definitely magic in the air and it reminded me of a British Christmas movie!!
