Luffy narrowly escapes being executed by his old nemeses Lady Alvida and Buggy the Clown, but now he has the Navy hot on his trail. Leading the hunt is the relentless Captain Smoker, a man who has never let a pirate escape from his jurisdiction!
Eiichiro Oda debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997 as a comic creator and artist with ONE PIECE. Oda is one of the most popular comic artists in Japan today, started out by earning the Hop Step Award (a monthly award given by Jump for amateur artists) as well as the esteemed Tezuka Award. His art style is reminiscent of Akira Toriyama, Sergio Aragones, and the movie Yellow Submarine.

Well, personally, I liked the story about the encounter of the whale and Luffy. What he says to the whale is touching.
The volume covers what the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates have been up to since we last have seen them back in near the start of the last arc. Needless to say Sanji, Nami, Brook, Chpper and friends were on a crazy adventure to reach Zou. The volume also gives us a first real look at 2 of the 4 Emperors crews and introduces us to several Minks, the people who live on Zou. My personal favorite of the several new characters is Cat Viper, who is just a riot. But most of all it starts to go into the true background of Sanji.
A final word of caution is that this volume does get a bit more graphic than usual, so you have been warned.
