Educational Testing Service(ETS) is a private, nonprofit organization devoted to educational measurement and research, primarily through testing. Founded as a nonprofit in 1947, ETS develops, administers, and scores more than 50 million tests annually―including the TOEFL® and TOEIC® tests, the GRE® tests, and The Praxis Series® assessments―in more than 180 countries, at over 9,000 locations worldwide.
However, this edition is essentially the same as the 1st edition. The only difference I’ve been able to find so far is reformatting and minor revisions to “Appendix A: GRE Math Review” on pages 139-228.
All of the actual GRE practice questions appear to be identical. ETS certainly has more recent retired questions. Why not release them to help test-takers prepare?
All that said, this book is one of very few resources that contain retired questions from the test maker and people studying the GRE should certainly use either it or the nearly identical first edition.
Each section has a great introduction to each part of the test and the kinds of problems you will find in it. I like that it has tons of practice exercises, along with long explanations of the answers. The general math review in the last chapter is also super useful. I haven't had math in years.
