Revelation is the 4th book in the Novum series and it drew me into the story right from the first pages of the book. Most of the action derives from the interaction between the main characters as they try and work out what the torus (is donut shaped) is and if they are on Earth. What I really like about this series as a whole, is how much reality is bent - sometimes even the characters don't know what's real and what isn't. In addition, each novella in the series is full of unexplained mystery that is slowly unravelled as the story goes along. As each mystery is solved new mysteries come to the fore, creating a constant tension that keeps the reader engrossed and wanting to understand what is happening for the characters and in the wider story-line. This is certainly true in Revelation. Jake Stone and his crew find themselves in a village that has being home to Jake's missing mother and her people for the past 15 years, yet when they try to leave the village, they find themselves wanting desparately to return to the village. Revelation is full of twists, turns and the unexpected and I am now looking forward to the final book in the series.
