Celebrate the life and legacy of one of the most prolific, engaging and dearly beloved figures in all of music: Prince. From his humble beginnings, his 5'2" frame rose to larger-than-life superstardom, and his music will continue to inspire and captivate for as long as audiences have ears. In this very special, 100-page commemorative issue, Newsweek both explores and celebrates the life and work of Prince Rogers Nelson, breaking down his influences, examining his most memorable performances and taking a look behind the scenes with the man who became a symbol. Featuring interviews with Prince from the Newsweek archive as well as photos from each era of his decades-long career, it's a must-own tribute issue for any fan of this one-of-a-kind artist.
This Newsweek Prince edition is very nice. It opens with several pictures and then a page about the shock of his death. Next comes a section entitled The Man on page 8 which gives a little history on him, his women, and his kindness. On page 26 The Music opens with pictures of each and every album released. This section has lots of additional pictures and a number of good articles. Lastly is The Symbol starting on page 72 till the end. I especially loved one article called the Scream Machine. It is a countdown of his 20 best screams from nearly 40 years of music. It even pinpointed the exact timing in each of the songs. I have to say that I agree with their number 1 choice.
This was a very well done publication and if you are a Prince fan or someone who just wants to learn more about his contribution to the entertainment world, ten dollars isn't much to spend to gain all this knowledge. I think you will be satisfied, the very thing that Prince strived to do with his music.
They aren't on the newstands so far, but are to be displayed until JUNE 30!!
The magazine contains various articles written about Prince by Newsweek writers over the years, with the newest one written on April 21.
It also contains lots of photos, an article on album covers, his humanitarian work, and statistics. Also had a section of what various celebrities tweeted about his passing.
It also has a section analyzing his various screams in his songs.
There was not an article about his fashion.
Thank you Newsweek for the edition on Prince, it was wonderful and a great way to honor him.
