``I Run To You''
が入っています.ちなみに日本語版は
ラン・トゥ・ユー (BONUS TRACK)
ボトル・アップ・ライトニング (日本盤ボーナス・トラック)
と言う構成なので,もう1曲多いです.
これを買った後で気がついたのですが,iTunes Storeでは13曲で900円。また,こんなセット Need You Now/Own the Night Boxed Set
昨年夏デビューアルバムからの3rdシングル『I Run To You』が

"Need You Now" is the valedictory cut from Need You Now, though it is accompanied by some exceptional competition, surprisingly. The production work here is brilliant, straddling country and pop worlds making this cut the #2 pop hit it was. There is superb chemistry between vocalist Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott, who trade off between verses. The pre-chorus (bridge before the chorus) is well penned ("and I wonder if I ever cross your mind, for me it happens all the time"), not to mention the classic chorus: "It's a quarter after one, I'm a little drunk and I need you now, said I wouldn't call, but I lost all control, and I need you now, and I don't know how I can do without, I just need you now" Any doubters should be silenced by this exceptional cut that makes the non-country fan want to beg for more.
"Our Kind of Love" is none too shabby itself, changing the pace after the moodier "Need You Now." Here the band adheres to a `country' sound which lessens the appeal to the crossover audience built by "Need You Now." The biggest quibble, however is the length of this cut as opposed to whether it is `country-sounding' or `pop-sounding.' "American Honey" silences pundits quickly with beautiful production work through lush strings and superb songwriting once more. Here, Hillary Scott is the featured vocalist, with Kelley's vocal turns mixed behind her (this happens throughout the album depending on who is truly `featured' between the two). "American Honey" is one of many examples of the exceptional engineering of this album if nothing else.
"Hello World" is a bit of a downgrade compared to the first three cuts, finding Charles Kelley's vocals lovely, yet too `sleepy' here at times. The cut is pretty - don't get me wrong - but it just does not feel as inspired as pre-eminent cut "Need You Now." Hillary Scot does not enter until nearly the 2:00 mark (mixed in the background for the most part). Only the dynamic ending truly atones for the lack of "oomph" with this cut. "Perfect Day" atones for the missteps of "Hello Word" with a more driving groove and up-tempo feel here. Also bowing in "Perfect Day's" favor is the brief duration at 3:20 and the production work.
"Love This Pain" is solid, though a shade less enjoyable than the very best cuts. Here, the highlights are the refrain and the superb bridge. "When You Got A Good Thing" is the next noteworthy cut, however, giving "Need You Now" its first true taste of competition as the best cut. This cut is a nice stripped-down ballad that features superb country instrumental ideas and straddles the line of soft-rock. Again, songwriting makes a cut like this effective - not to mention some superb guitar playing by Dave Haywood, whose role can not be underwritten in the instrumental aspects of this album.
"Stars Tonight" is a mid-tempo cut, that like the general pattern of this album does not stand out as the best, but is solid for the most part. The vocal mix between Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley is spot-on as always. The track itself is enjoyable, but not revolutionary and is saved by the addition of a chorus backing Scott and Kelley's vocals near the end. "If I Knew Then" again saves the day for a track less satisfying preceding it. The six-feel is wonderful and a nice change of pace for the trio. The songwriting is among the best of the album, yielding some wonderful lyrically driven moments: "Cause love only comes, once in a while, knocks on your door, and throws you a smile, and takes every breath and leaves every scar/speaks to your soul, and sings to your heart..." Like "When You Got a Good Thing," it is one of few tracks to truly rival centerpiece cut "Need You Now." "Something `Bout A Woman" and "Ready to Love Again" are solid, but don't feel as relevant or solid as the best cuts from Need You Now.
All said, Need You Now is a good album that for the most part lives up to the hype that currently surrounds Lady Antebellum. As stated prior, the hype is a bit much and this album is NOT without its flaws. At times, the album sags and relies too much on restrained productions and songwriting conceptions that make the songs somewhat `same-y.' Luckily, Need You Now is packed with enough memorable moments and well crafted songs to atone and counteract the less remarkable moments and that is the mark of a group with considerable musicianship and a knack for marketing. Solid and enjoyable effort that should the group several Grammy nods.
THE BAD
Hello World - (1/10) While some people may like this song, (A guy in another review) I just can't seem to make myself like it. Charles sings lead in this one, or from what I have heard of it. My imaginary ADHD kicks on during this song and my brain disengages. I've tried to listen to it a few times but, honestly I can't tell you what it's about because I always end up skipping it, or thinking about other things when it's playing. Why, you make ask? Well the arrangement is dreadfully boring, Charles does nothing to impress me with his vocals in this one, and the tune is just to slow and long (5:26)! I have no problem with long songs but when the song is boring and uneventful it makes it kind of painful. Why this song is on here is beyond me, as they usually use their own songs but, Tom Douglas, David Lee & Tony Lane wrote this song...whoever they are :P
Stars Tonight - (4/10) This song doesn't spin me either, it's hard to relate to. It's basically telling us were all stars tonight at their concert (La Te Da)...this song might actually work if you were at a Lady Antebellum concert in the moment, but on the CD it's cliche in a back rock concert kinda way, and basically pointless. It feels like a filler song to me, although it may have a better effect when the song is sung live.
THE GOOD
Most of the songs on here are good quality. Nothing to write home about, but they are worth a listen, and most people will relate to and enjoy them.
Something 'Bout A Woman - (6.5/10) Being a woman I don't really relate to this one :P However, it's got a good sound to it, and it's kinda got a sweet vibe with innocent and kinda naive lyrics. Charles sings lead and does good with this one. The guys in love will probably like this one, and will find it convenient to say "Hey baby, this song reminds me of how you make make me feel, cause your a great woman." (Hint, Hint!)
Perfect Day - (7/10) Big shocker, this song talks about the perfect day. Go figure! Hillary sings lead on this one. It's an uptempo feel good kinda song that would probably be fun live. The tune is catchy and creates an overall sense of good times and fun.
Ready To Love Again - (7.5/10) Hillary sings lead again on this one. This song rounds of the CD nicely. It's short and sweet. Slower tempo. It talks about a person who is ready to start looking for love again.
American Honey - (8/10) Hillary sings lead, she does a good job vocally on this one. This song has a good vibe, beat and sound. This kinda has a summertime/freedom feel to it.
If I Knew Then - (8/10) Charles sings lead. This again is a slower song. It's very pretty, the lyrics are sweet. It talks about a man who loses an opportunity to fall in love, and then regrets it later in life. He basically says if he knew then what he knows now he would have went the extra mile to fall in love.
Love This Pain - (8.5/10) Charles sings lead on this one, and does really well. This song talks about a guy who is in an unhealthy relationship with a women, but can't seem to get away from her, and for some reason she keeps pulling him in.
THE GREAT
My personal favorites are the duet styles between Hillary and Charles. That's where I think they really shine. These last three songs on the album are all duet style, and they all are great in my opinion!
Our Kinda Love - (9/10)Great song. Kinda of almost has a Rascal Flatts feel to it with the arrangement and the sound. It' a very fun song that is basically about two people in love and how they describe their love to you.
Need You Now - (9.5/10)I assume by now that most people have heard this one, but for those of you living under a rock or are new fans, it's kind of a darker and more desperate love song. This song is basically about two people who seem to have separated but are still very much in love and can't take being away from one another any longer.
When You Got A Good Thing - (10/10) This song for me is the best on the CD. Hillary and Charles both sing it beautifully. The lyrics are gorgeous, and you can't help but fall in love with this song it's so powerful. I think it could be a really big hit for them. The song is slower, but not to slow. It talks about two people who have got this great love together.
Overall, this CD is still a really great one, and worth the buy. The feeling and vibe is similar to their first album, but again there is a bit of something missing in this one. However, it's still a lot better than most of the other junk some artists try to pass off as good music.
