1) Limited Page Bleed Through / Heavier Stock - I use darker ball point pins and the ink does not bleed through to the reverse side
2) Easy Flexing - Does not require strain to write near the spine (middle) of the notebook / opens nicely so I can use the entire page from edge to edge
3) Quality Construction - Through daily monthly use, pages and spine do not separate.
4) Multiple Sizes - I like the fact I can now get a quality notebook in multiple size to cover different organization needs.
All around a great notebook, even at the elevated price point if you looking for a sturdy organizer that can withstand daily abuse and be your go to, this is it.
Update: After owning it for about 3 months, I am about 3/4 of the way through it and I'm not pleased with the soft cover. The binding seems to be coming unhinged, and the ribbon bookmark fell off. Granted, I take it everywhere with me in my backpack or purse, but when I use it I'm pretty careful with it and I don't think it should warrant this kind of decay. I still like that the soft cover feels lighter in my purse, but I will go back to hard covers from now on.
When I went back to college, I searched for planners that had a monthly view, a weekly view, enough space for a prioritization and to-do list, as well as pages for extra things. The planners I found had different combinations of these things but I could never find one planner with everything I was looking for (even moleskine planners weren't exactly what I was looking for).
So, one night, I googled planners, figuring I could come across some random site that sold planners better suited to my needs. To my surprise, I came across an entire community of people who took regular moleskine (typically moleskine) ruled planners and turned them into customized planners just for them.
I immediately started writing down what I specifically wanted and needed in my planner. I knew there would be an adjustment period until I'd perfected it, but I was willing to try.
I'm on my third six-month long planner and it's been worth it. Looking back on the years in middle school, jr high, and high school that I spent bending my needs to fit the planner as opposed to having a planner that fit MY needs, seem crazy!
Plus, I've noticed that because of the expensiveness of moleskine notebooks and the time it takes me to do everything (usually about four hours to finish the whole thing), I use and care for them more! I do end up with unused pages in the back of the books but I use them to help me plan out next semesters classes and various things like that.
I carried these to Afghanistan. Back pocket securely held my orders, pictures of loved ones, etc. Pen jammed into the side, held in place by elastic cord. A must for anyone who writes and travels. There was nothing specific to this product (Ruled soft cover large notebook) that I wouldn't say to praise any other Moleskine product. Except one... buy them before I purchase them all!
