This is probably one of the best books I've read on the MX-5 and reading it again only spurs me on towards buying another one. More than just a technical manual, the book includes chapters on development history and driving tips; leaving the reader with a firm grasp of not only how the car works, but the spirit in which it was created.
Modifications are explained in enough detail to be of use to the mechanically-minded, who are seeking to undertake them; but are not overly-technical and make very interesting reading for those - like me - who simply wish to improve their technical overview of this classic, without having their brains numbed by numeric engineering minutiae.
Illustrations are plentiful, although sadly none are in colour. However, this is my only, nit-picking criticism of an otherwise excellent book; which will prove a highly absorbing read for MX-5 / Miata enthusiasts on all levels, from the layman up.
