これが初レビュー？

まずジャケ（輸入盤は違う写真）からしてスケールの壮大さが想像できます。正直ROYAL ALBERT HALLという会場は知りませんでしたがボブディランやジミヘンなども演ったところらしいです。中ジャケにホール会場の写真が何枚かあるのですが、円形のホールでステージをC字型に囲むような造りです。天井にぶら下がったたくさんの赤色の円盤？がジャケ写になっていますがとても美しく格式高い雰囲気です。

さて、肝心な中身ですが大所帯でなんと40人以上のミュージシャンが参加とのことでこういったホールならではの特別なステージだとは思います。ライブ盤の基本である空気感は充分に詰め込まれています。できるだけ高音質で聴いてもらいたいです。携帯プレーヤーにしてもビットレートは出来るだけ高めに。とにかくThe Cinematic Orchestraのキャリアの集大成的なセットリストになっていますが、個人的にはオープニングのAll That You GiveとFliteがお気に入りです。陶酔の世界にただただ浸ってください。

I guess that the best thing to say about the Cinematic Orchestra is that they are consistent. Most of the records I've heard ( Ma Fleur includes the great vocalist Patrick Watson, Everyday and of course this record) - sorry to say - all sound the same, but I guess that for people who like the music that's not problem. If you read the other reviews you'll get a good idea of their (CO's) music on this (and all their) records, in short it's a mixture of soul, jazz and electronica with vocals thrown into the mix - ex: Lou Rhodes. The melodies are all catchy and there's some nice - if simple - soloing from the various members of the group.

What makes this probably interesting is that it has all their well know tunes on it, and due to the fact that it's live, the feeling of the group is very relaxed yet spot on 'swinging', there's also strings which come across very nicely. So, if you want to discover the Cinematic Orchestra then I suggest you buy this one, it's probably the only one you'll need. Of course if you love this then you can always invest in the other's to get a complete discography.

Die Interpretation gefällt mir bei dieser Live LP sehr gut. Kann was.

Die Qualität der Pressung ist so halbwegs in Ordnung. Etwas leichter Höhenschlag.
Beide LPs liegen mit Gewicht aber ziemlich plan auf dem Teller.
Ohne Gewicht wird der Höhenschlag mehr sichtbar. Man hört aber auch ohne dem Gewicht
keine Fehler.
Und ein paar Knackser sind leider da. Aber das geht noch. 'Weil nicht so aufdringlich'.

Wäre das nicht, dann wären es absolut 5 Sterne gewesen.

Denn der Klang ist ausgesprochen gut.
Hat einen Audiophilen Touch. Sehr detailreich und Farbenfroher Klang.
Und trotz des Mankos.
Insgesamt eine tolle Doppel LP.

Several tracks are profoundly emotional and moving even after many 'listens'. The techs who engineered this recording ought to receive Grammies for the astonishing vivid acoustics... The only arguable downside here: too many down tempo songs creating excess melancholy. However the bluesy female vocalist is unbelievably good, the male vocalist on "To Build a Home" (which at first I felt was too "folky" to belong, but later came to truly enjoy) is superb, and the instrumentals are exquisite. The drumming and acoustic bass are exceptionally brilliant and brilliantly recorded. Standout tracks are: "Time and Space" on which the string section is hauntingly beautiful; "Man with the Movie Camera"; and "All that You Give".

Beautiful vinyl double album. Packaging is a glossy cover and inserts, records are 180g. The recording is excellent - superb sound quality throughout.

Absolutely brilliant version of 'To build a house'. Cannot find any faults with this - it's exactly as a vinyl release should be.
