"The present textbook is intended for a one-term course at the junior or senior level. It begins with an exposition of the basic theory of finite-dimensional vector spaces and proceeds to explain the structure theorems for linear maps, including eigenvectors and eigenvalues, quadratic and Hermitian forms, diagonalization of symmetric, Hermitian, and unitary linear maps and matrices, triangulation, and Jordan canonical form. It also includes a useful chapter on convex sets and the finite-dimensional Krein-Milman theorem. The presentation is aimed at the student who has already had some exposure to the elementary theory of matrices, determinants, and linear maps. In this third edition, many parts of the book have been rewritten and reorganized, and new exercises have been added." (S. Lajos, Mathematical Reviews)

This book is probably suitable for a linear algebra text. (I haven't finished)
But I warn you if you buy the Kindle version of this book. I think it's typical that books typeset by TeX. The expressions converted into images won't be displayed properly.

I was required to buy this book as part of my Undergraduate studies in Mathematics. The book does what it says on the tin. My overall feeling is that the book is fine, but a major fault is that there are no answers in the books, and so have no idea whether or not any answers are correct. There is a separate answer book available, but it is very expensive.
The material in the book is great, as expected of Lang. Possibly my favorite basic Linear Algebra book. However the paper is very low quality. This is the second book by Springer with which I’ve had this problem. What has gone wrong with Springer lately?
Excelente libro si deseas estudiar por tu cuenta algebra lineal , ideal si estudias una carrera de ciencias ya que trae todo lo preliminar para cursos avanzados de este mismo tema.
