I found this item in a row of dvds for sale. It was next to some other movies my dad loved from the 70's, so I purchased it along with Up Town Saturday Night, and A Piece of the Action. I figured I would get him the entire Poitier/Cosby set. Imagine my surprise when I received the other two movies and this CD. I went back and looked at the site and there it was, the ONLY CD mixed in with a bunch of movies. He will appreciate the other movies, and I will find the real movie elsewhere, but I think it's deceptive of Amazon to list a CD with a bunch of like minded movies without expressly labeling it as a CD without needing to open the complete detail listing.
I love this movie and the music is so on point. The production by Curtis Mayfield is superb,if you love his music and The Staple Singers you must have this Album.
Curtis Mayfield wrote some of the best motion picture scores of the 70s - and it was largely the sound of these films that catapulted them to box office success. "Let's Do It Again" as a stand alone single has always been one of the most soulful and happy jams of the era - but rarely has the rest of the album that it came from been celebrated. The music on this album is sooo cool. I'll even date myself by saying that the album is so good that it's Baaad.
If you want a song to jump up & have a GOOD time then I would suggest you purchase this album. The memory I have of the song playing in the movie makes it even better. This is the perfect song to end a party with....only if the party was fabulous ;)
