Interesting and useful reading2019年8月10日に英国でレビュー済み
It was reassuring that the author and her friend found it so difficult to see a bear, as we didn't see one at all, but were actually quite relieved (and saddened by the reasons that bears are suffering a impact of man on their fishing grounds and habitat). A good read before a holiday in Kamchatka. Recommended.

A different slant on travel guide. The author`s personal experiences added some flavour as well as information. The inclusion of history/ geology etc helped with the description of the area

This is an intensely interesting and readable book about a land of turbulent volcanoes and fascinating flora, fauna and geography, described by an intrepid couple of women who seem fearlessly to go where few have trodden before. It is one of the best travel books I have read this century.
