Imprescindible para los fans de Masamune Shirow. Si os gusta recomiendo comprarlo, solo por las anécdotas y curiosidades que cuenta en inglés ya vale la pena.
Masamune Shirow remains to this day my favorite artist. I really enjoy his technical precision along with his whimsy and imagination, which comes through strongly in this volume.
Herein is a collection of work which spans a decade, from 1981 to 1991. Some of it is familiar, such as now classic images from the works of Appleseed (my first love), Dominion and Ghost in the Shell. The rest is new to me, containing roughs, color variants, and full fledged commissioned art for things not seen in the West. Some of the comic panels aren’t translated, but everything else is wonderfully annotated in Japanese and English. Here is where Shirow’s humor shines. I always loved the little comments he would make in the margins of his manga. He’s doing the same thing here, but in a more robust manner. There is something charming about a master referring to his own designs as ridiculous or impractical, and while this book is certainly not for all ages, it’s a perfect companion to every other Shirow work you already have.
