前回までの綺麗で上質なプログレッシブ・トランスからポップでキャッチーなEDM寄りのサウンドになっちゃったのがちょっと残念… EDM好きだけどトランスも好きな私としては最近こんな感じでトランスのDJ・プロデューサー達(ゴアトランス・サイケデリックトランス・UKハードハウス・日本の一発屋のトランスの紛い物クリエイター共等は含まない)がEDMにシフトしてるのが寂しい… ティエストとかサンダー・ヴァン・ドーンとかマット・ズーとかユーメット・オズキャンとか… それからBTやアンダーワールドまで… とはいえアーミンの曲はいいですね!

A STATE OF TRANCEは2004から聴いてますが、最近のは、あまり知らず、今回聴いてみてやはり期待は裏切らないと感じました。
とても高次元なサウンドで溢れていて、聴いていてとても心地よくノリよくも聴けるしリラックスしても聴けるアルバムです。
とても綺麗に丁寧に一曲、一曲が作られているように感じます。
綺麗に聴ける、聴いていたくなるアルバムです。
More Intense Editionは二枚組で収録されており、満足度がより高く感じます。

曲に関しては期待通り素晴らしいため☆+1です。
ただ商品の管理に問題を感じました。
開梱前に既にパッケージのビニールが破けておりケースにもヒビが入っていました。
何かに強く擦ったような後があり輸送中のものとは考えられません。
交換も検討しましたがディスクに問題がなければいいかと思いとどまり現在に至ります。
倉庫内の管理を改善してもらいたいです。

Armin van Buurenの最新作が出ると知り動画サイトで発売前から聞いていたが、やはり素晴らしい完成度だった。2曲目のThis Is What It Feels LikeはあまりTranceっぽくないが、とてもはまってしまい、気がついたら80回も再生していた。捨て曲は一曲もないです!!昔のArminが好きな方にはちょっと期待はずれかもしれませんが、買って損はないです。

ラジオで7曲目のAloneが流れて、「なんだこの曲は・・・感じる物があるっ！」
すぐNow On Airで調べました。
YoutubeにPVがあったので何度も聞きました。
とても聴きやすく、作業の邪魔になることもないので気に入っています。
作業用にもドライブ用にもいいと思います。

Intense is the fifth studio album by Dutch DJ and record producer Armin van Buuren released in 2013. This high-energy trance album features a number of different male and female singers/artists and the musical style embraces, even more, genres with house, electro, trance, dubstep, some rock, and even classical music, along with powerful, springy, and progressive synths, with Van Buuren also utilizing a live orchestra and rock band. While I like the whole album with its uplifting melodies, my absolute favourite song is ‘Love Never Came’ featuring Richard Bedford, this is an emotionally haunting track giving us dark tearful lyrics and a thrilling, consistent driving pulsating beat; all in all, for me at least, the various sounds on this album are energising and executed beautifully.

An eclectic mix but so much better than Mirage

Mirage was a 'good' album, but this, by comparison, is a GREAT album. Written once again with Benno de Goeij (of Rank 1 fame) this album leans more towards the Rank 1 sound than the commerciality of Mirage. There are still a lot of vocal tracks (notably with Emma Hewitt and Richard Bedord - better known for his work with Above & Beyond) but the overall feel is a modern trance sound. The lead single (This Is What It Feels Like (feat. Trevor Guthrie)) has just the right balance to entice new listeners without alienating old fans, but is not typical of the album, which is quite simply superb.

I've listened to this album quite a few times now and can't find a duff track on it. If you liked Mirage, you will love this.

In my opinion this follows the thread of Mirage and expands outwards across the wide genre of trance music. If you are familiar with Mirage and listen carefully you can hear threads of that (here and there) across the tracks (and comes back to an almost classical basis).

Track one is a great example of classical based movements then goes to something approaching commerciality on track two and so on - as the style changes between moods and expectations. The vocals are for the most part excellent and I take my hat off to the three L's (especially Laura Jansen) and Emma Hewitt for their clear and heartfelt contributions.

Most of the tracks on CD2 are upbeat and front room but still it holds a few surprises (good remixes) and a chilled ending (again with classical overtones).

Lastly, I listened to the sound bites on Amazon before buying this and was unsure. Perhaps the standard of allowing the first 30 seconds of the tracks should be changed to a random placement for the 30 second play so that the intro is largely ignored. I'm glad I went with my instincts and bought this as a CD for my collection, it will be enjoyed for a long time to come and I look forward to the next one. Oh! BTW this CD was delivered very quickly by the big river.

The opening and title track is one of Armin's finest moments, it's a stunning journey of excitement that is worth the price of the CD alone. It is however the only remarkable track on the entire album.

This Is What It Feels Like is the big hit that so many now know, however it is an example of how Armin - like Tiesto - has moved away from refrains of excitement and have chased the radio success. The album is unlikely to satisfy many fans of his early trance, but will also gain him many new ones as it doesn't excel - even in the mainstream pop song sense.
