Full of wonder and tragedy, and fantastic ideas to delight any sci-fi fan, the most beautiful about this book is perhaps that it reads like an autobiography, even if we’re pushed beyond the limits of the fathomable; because the author’s perspective is deeply intimate and real, and the setting, as ‘inner space’ as it is ‘outer space’. We recognise every heartbeat—or lightyear—of our fear in the beautiful poetic lines; and the experience is soothing; like looking into a mirror of our own infinity, everything that makes us unique and wonderful. Just reading the beautiful title, this is exactly what I’d hope for. I couldn’t have liked it more.
This book is a great collection of short stories for those who like to indulge in sci-fi fantasy. Opening the first chapters takes you in to other worlds beyond our everyday reality. Like diving into a fast flowing river the current of the authors imagination takes you flowing and tumbling through the pleasant shallows of another world or plummeting into the darkness of deep muddy pools filled with the dramas of life and death. It is a book you can put down until you are ready to dive again below the surface while enjoying your next cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The stories are well written and thought out and very much in line with Asimov or Hubbard. A good book to have around during idle moments.
Infinity and I is a bumper collection of science fiction short stories and otherworldly vignettes. The width and breadth of stories makes it a page turner--you don't know where Sam is going to take you next until you turn the page! The stories range from short to longer reads. The short reads pack a lot into them, which makes it a perfect volume for commuters or those that have just a few minutes to read each day.

I ordered this initially because the cover grabbed my interest, but I'm so glad I did! This collection of short stories is so unique, a lot of twisted short stories that sometimes leave me shocked, occasionally sad, and always questioning where the next story is going to take me. I'm not finished with the whole book, but only about half way through. I save this in my kindle when I want something quick to read that holds my interest and keeps me busy while passing time in a waiting room or when I just need to stop my brain from repeating my to-do list over and over. It's a great break from the daily grind. I highly recommend it! Especially if you are into sci-fi fiction, or just strange off-the-wall stories. You definitely get way more than you pay for. This book is packed full!
'Give me a burger'- jesus christ, just as i'm settling into some fine tales of cryogenic mismanagement and robot nannies, i get hit over the head by the trippy stick. I'm used to this now, reading Sams previous poetry has prepared me for this kind of trek through his punch drunk madness. That's why i enjoy flicking back and forward through his quick jabbing tales, always ready to bounce off the ropes onto another adventure. There is great writing in this book, even though i do stumble trying to decipher some of the deeper tales like 'The Entropy Bomb' and 'TheDigital World' But yeh, great writing.
