Dr. Starr has written a clear and understandable explanation of why so many people today are suffering from hypothyroidism, despite normal' blood tests that throw their doctors off the track. This book is a compilation of the overwhelming evidence that not only is the modern laboratory testing used to diagnose hypothyroidism completely inadequate, but also the current treatment for the illness is equally lacking efficacy."
Dr. Starr is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pain Medicine. He has studied with President Kennedy's famous pain specialist, Hans Kraus, M.D., and Lawrence S. Sonkin, Ph.D., renowned endocrinologist at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center.

While reading his book it soon becomes obvious that Dr. Starr has probably done more research on hypothyroidism than any living being.
After 76 years of outstanding good health (I only saw three doctors to get Viagra Rx) I went to a doctor with a tingle on the back and side of my skull. He asked to what I attributed my good health for all these years – I replied, “I avoid doctors and hospitals!”
Then my health started to go downhill rapidly. For the past year I have seen several Nephrologists, GP’s, and a couple of homeopathic practitioners – had numerous MRIs, Sonograms, X-rays, CTs. EKGs, etc.. . and blood tests at various labs. I finally concluded that half-the-time the doctors didn’t know what they were talking about (and two MDs agreed). I purchased numerous books and spent hundreds of hours researching my symptoms on the Internet.
It became somewhat obvious that I had some form of Hypothyroid problem. Then it was a problem to find someone who really knew about the thyroid.
Searching the world via the web, I found a forum article on a UK website (LONDON) http://ukconspiracy.myfastforum.org/archive/help-for-hypothyroid-myxedema-natural-thyroid-101__o_t__t_93.html
about Dr. Starr who appeared to be really be informed (based on the research I had done). I was certain that this was the person I must see to correct my problems, even if I had to fly to London, England. Was I surprised when I found his address - it turned out his office was just 4 miles from my house in Phoenix, Arizona.
And I only encountered one typographical error in the book – in the Index
The book was dryly written but coming from an MD that is to be expected---- with lots of cases that showed the desired results-----so be prepared to wade through all these cases and decide for yourself.
In fact most of the reviews of this book all have one thing in common-----some form of medical maladies that need corrective action---the key is to wade through all of this data and determine what is the best treatment for you with all the medical test or home test available like mentioning ones temperatures--that comes to mind ----OCCAMS RAZOR---if some of you are not aware of this theory it was postulated by Occam's (or Ockham's) razor is a principle attributed to the 14th century logician and Franciscan friar William of Ockham. Ockham was the village in the English county of Surrey where he was born.
"When you have two competing theories that make exactly the same predictions, the simpler one is the better."
