This is obviously the story of the Disney film, "Frozen," which has been adapted into a short novel for children. It has 23 short chapters and is approx 125 pages long. Although the text itself is not broken up by illustrations, there are several colour stills from the movie in the centre of the book. This is ideal for newly fluent readers, who are ready to move on to simple chapter books. Of course, it is also suitable to be read aloud and will be sure to appeal to all little girls who liked the film.
I was looking for a more 'grown up' version of the book of the movie for my 9 year old daughter, and this was just the ticket! She loved it, and it even had some colour pics in the middle for her!
Small but perfectly formed softback book. Only about 1/2 cm thick so not too challenging. My niece seemed very pleased with it but I was a touch underwhelmed as it seemed quite expensive (£3.14) for the size and quality. Saying that, I couldn't get it any cheaper elsewhere and I guess the price reflects the hype around Frozen not an error on behalf of the seller.
I didn't look at this product properly before buying it for my 3 year old haha! But I've been reading a chapter a night for her and she's never sat and listened to a bedtime story as well as with this! It helps that she loves frozen, but I do think reading books like this is actually better than short stories all the time!
My daughter loves this book, as it follows the film very closely, so the dialogue is very familiar ('Hoo hoo, big summer blowout!'). The stills from the films are a bit random, featuring some of the more 'minor' moments from the film rather than the big scenes, but it's a big hit in our house (as are all things 'Frozen').
