I would definitely say that the other reviews and descriptions were very accurate (posted at the time I bought, anyway!) so I was not surprised to find that my older children's (ages 3 and 2) heads hit the canopy, and their knees are really bent. I don't have big kids, so definitely this stroller is designed for 4 children all under about the age of 2-2 1/2.
Nevertheless, I LOVE IT. I LOVE being able to pile my 4 children- 3 1/2, 2 1/2, 19 mos, and 3 mos- all into the stroller and go for a walk. The stroller is super easy to push. A bit of a pain to turn, but whatever, it's big. I never intended to, but I did eventually take it to the mall- I got it into the back of my Odyssey without much trouble, and once there, it really was a lifesaver. Got in and out of elevators no problem, and I wasn't chasing after kids the whole time- I actually was able to accomplish the shopping I needed to do without my kids knocking over an entire belt rack (like they did the last time).
My husband put it together very easily, and I keep it in our garage.
I was able to remove and re-fasten the front canopy easily.
I put my infant in at about a month old and strapped her in with the seat reclined- she did great.
I love the storage at the bottom- there are little nets to hold stuff as well as a bin at the bottom, and I can reach both very easily.
I did use velcro straps to hold up the hand brake. If I need to brake the stroller I use the foot brake.
I'm so happy to be able to take a real walk and not end up carrying a tricycle half the way!!
Here are my thoughts.
I HATE it. The bar across the front broke and the company won't return my email. The wheels are SO hard to push and the brakes stick ALL the time.
Since I purchased this for daycare- it was a waste of $400!!
I will def go with a different company!!
I love the size.
I shopped for a stroller for a long time before I bought this one.
It's heavy to load(nothing I didn't know)
I'm kind of disappointed in the wheels, I expected them to maneuver through grass/other surfaces than cement better than they do! The dirt/leaves collect in between the tire and the wheel causing it to be harder to push. These wheels should be designed the same as a jogging stroller- in my opinion!
Again, if you are a sidewalk walker- with very few hills, this is a stroller for you;)
I think the quad stroller will last this summer but not sure how it will go next summer. It seems to creak and wobble a little while turning corners, although, it does have good turning radius. I should have tried the quad stroller a step up that holds up to 50 lb in each seat...for durability reasons....the 3 kids average 25 lb each. I doubt I will be pushing them when they reach 40-50 lb.
I did take off the front canopy because it was very low. Foundations should have that adjustable so it can move up higher. I also used a couple baby toy links to keep the handle clasped for the automatic breaks. I don't have any hills where I am walking so I don't think it's needed.
All in all I think it's working out so far but should have spent the extra $100 to see if the other stroller is a little bit more durable/sturdy.
it works great if you are on flat level ground. I have a large daycare and never could afford to ship it back then wait the crazy amount of time for the to "inspect" it then wait for a replacement. Just treat it like a baby and maybe you can keep it from falling apart.
