This book is designed to help the reader to resolve their emotional disturbances which are driven by old, painful, undigested experiences. This book describes two processes which were developed as part of the core of Emotive-Cognitive Embodied Narrative Therapy (E-CENT). But they are both supported by good approaches to diet and exercise! The first is a way to reinterpret our past experiences which were too horrible to confront when they happened, way back in our childhood or early life. These experiences are what we call the ‘emotional dragons’. The second is a way to digest and dissolve those ‘dragons’ so that they disappear from your life, and no long cause you any problems. We call this process, completing your experience; accepting it; or allowing it to be.The processes are illustrated via some interesting case study material from working with our E-CENT counselling clients. There is also lots of guidance on problem solving, in a writing therapy format; keeping a writing therapy journal; how to rate your problems accurately, so as not to exaggerate them; managing anxiety with diet and exercise; the way we adapt our personalities to our parents and others; and an introduction to 'gradual desensitization'.
