"We've Got New Thoughts New Ideas It's All So Groovy"
2015年5月21日 - (Amazon.com)
If you're not familiar with The Saints but you've heard the single "(I'm) Stranded" and liked it, this thier 2nd lp is the 1st full length you should purchase. It's the entire album plus a MONO version that was recorded at an earlier date but with NO HORNS. You can compare & decide which version you like best. I love both but I'm partial to the original released version with horns. This is a blow out Punk Rocking Son Of A Gun. And if you think that can't include horns, well you need to get hip to THIS record in particular. I remember "The Press" making note that one member was wearing "Flairs" & had long hair on the cover of The Saints 1st Lp "(I'm) Stranded". This was almost a sin in the Punk era. Some bands just should never be put in a catagory like Punk-Goth whatever. Buy this one 1st but then get "(I'm) Stranded" with the "184.108.40.206. EP" and an Unreleased cut added. If you've never heard "Prehistoric Sounds" thier 3rd lp when it was released. (I'm not sure it was released stateside & it wasn't available where I lived so I never bought it.) I suggest you get it.This was the last of the original line-up & that was the best line up in my opinion.Re; purchesing the Saints releases my suggestion: Eternally Yours (5 stars) (I'm) Stranded (5 stars) Prehistoric Sounds (4 stars). In that order. The Monkey Puzzle was spotty but I bought it & give it 3 out of 5 stars from here the line-up just shifts from record to record. The Saints forever.

A killer album by Australia's greatest punk band

So, uh, if you thought the first Saint's album was cool, then check your pacemaker at the door before you put this one on the stereo. Ace bunny killer. An absolute classic of relentless and unceasingly catchy guitar rock. While the lyrics are comparatively highbrow, Chris Bailey's vocals are practically feral -- combined with Ed Kuepper's crushingly powerful guitars and a set of LOUD, LOUD speakers, and you've got a record to reckon with. At this point Bailey and Kuepper seem telepathically entwined; when they later had an inevitable falling out over artistic differences (or whatever...), the band went soft and postpunk, and while that stuff ain't bad, this record is amazing. One of the few seminal punk albums that still holds up when you're all grown up.

A classic release- great introduction to the band.

The Beards weave their magic on the Saints BEST album. Everything is right from the artwork to the sound. The only is question is where's Prehistoric Sounds the Saints most under-rated album - I know I'm Stranded is re-released but why not the only other album with Ed Kuepper. This stuff is important you know. Regardless of my unrelated whinging this is a superb album, beautifully re-produced.
