I found this book to be a refreshingly good read on the good versus evil concept. While there were battle scenes and violence, it wasn't particularly gory or long-winded in terms of fight scenes. The characters were well thought out and interesting.
My complaint with the story is that it moved somewhat slowly. Specifically, the author spent time on details that were of less importance, but didn't spend enough time of details that are important. For example, I would like to know how/why Shorran was corrupted. Also, I would have liked to know more about the water people and Nyad. Furthermore, I could not really get a true sense of the size of the Nuruth and Chrysos. I think the only description relevant to size for the black wolf was that the riders were 8 feet from the ground on his back.
Despite my complaint, I recommend this book as a good read that is safe for young adults as well.
This was a very interesting story full of twists and turns. Basically it's one of those stories where someone from our world is taken to another world full of magic. Miann is this elf who came to take with him , a bird and Bobby's friend Scotty come a long also with a giant wolf and eagle they meet on the other side , they go after the key that opened the door way between the worlds. Along the way they battle against the creatures altered by the key because of the villain who wants to kill them I would recommend the book to people who like books about adventure, alternative worlds or magic
This book does not have a dull moment in it, fast action packed read that is well developed through out two worlds separated by a magical tree. A land with talking animals, plants and people at war with an evil sorcerer intent on destruction and dominance. This is a fantasy that lives up to the genre. This author has great writing skills, a vivid imagination and a knack for bringing it all together for a fantastic reading experience. I loved this book and hated to reach the end. I highly recommend this book.
This was a delightful novel. This story contains a multitude of fantasy creatures who ultimately have to work together to destroy a threat to them all. The key to destroying this threat lives through a door to another world, earth. The target audience for this book is young teenagers, but even as an adult I enjoyed the story. There is so much action and adventure in this book and a surprising ending. I would definately recommend this book.
