From the very beginning of opening the package to playing the game, Route 66 is a big disappointment. The die that was included had no pips on it, so it was just a useless white cube! Then when unfolding the board to play the game, it shows the entire United States, Route 66 just being a small part of it! When playing the game, there were very few questions about Route 66 and for the most part, the questions were more suitable for elementary school children, rather than adults. For instance, one question wanted to know what was in a fully-inflated tire. Obviously it is air, what else could it be. And then some of the questions show a small map on the card and you have to identify which state it is and the capital of that state. Well, one of the cards showed Washington, D.C., which is not a state and does not have a capital! And then sometimes you might draw a card telling you to take a "Side Trip" to Alaska, Florida or Hawaii. What do these places have to do with Route 66, which is in the middle of the country west of the Mississippi River, not way up north near the Arctic or out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean! That is just a small example of why I feel this game is not worth the money!
Lots of fun!

My 14 year old son and I have been playing this game for over a year now. Sometimes my wife plays, and a couple of times my mother in law has played too. It's a fun game, but you need to know something about the States, a little bit of "Pop Culture" over the years, and things you'd see along the road. After playing awhile it is a very easy game to pick up on and a quick glance back at the rules will refresh your memory about how some of the different questions work. It's a lot of fun and I would recomend the game. (it's pretty educational too)
Nice idea, needs bigger board

Wish there were some star between "I don't like it" and "It's okay." The idea behind the game is pretty fun; the trivia questions are easy for anybody who grew up in the U.S. and is over 30. The board is so tiny the playing pieces have to be all stacked up on one another, it's hard to keep them from falling over and very hard to read the tiny writing on everything. Too bad the makers couldn't afford a full size playing board as it would totally change the usability and enjoyment of the game.

I purchased this CD for a friend who was retiring and planned to cruise the entire length of Route 66. He and his wife played the CD many times on their trip and were very happy with the songs on this CD.
