quite brave all-way round mounting this LIFE & Death struggle,where meaning has gone someplace, no one seems to know-No Where, perhaps the Fall of the Walls, will someday produce meanings, Aperghis worked years he tells us in the nice interview inlcuded hereing, in Europa language, he did find a creative center for this work, a WORK like a trap, like a Disease, a Virus of Man-Wman themselves, alone, to scour the earth to decide what has happened, Since we have destruction can we begin again?, or do we simply go on with our own hypoCRISY in CRISIS,in mutatis mutadi, re-gurgitating what we already know but need to make more money doing it, Hamlet is about HISTORY, it always is in Heiner Mueller, He cannot read, READ himself, and begins always in the center or begins at the EDN, to BEGIN aGain, to Gain whatever he can to make the piece ART, to WORK, Our Lives are in ORDER, but our ART needs process,and TIME, Hamlet is about tried and true corruption, of power, and we see how it works, Mueller said He must always FIGHT with German Publikum to make them understand of make them simply LISTEN. Aperghis has a concpet to work with,his rhythmic architecture always sets things a blaze, HIS Rhythms set bonfires within Mueller's WORDS, and ICTUS does fine, shouting, and babbling, reiterating, the WORD "Omelette" Hamlet I suppose, to someone who is stupid with languages,like ME, never learned a bit:, BITE. seems to be there, a DESIRE. Nice interesting use of solo instruments, and chamber setting,but we expect that from Europe, well-crafted chaos, even though meaning is interstitial hear, meandering around, RONDOs for all to contemplate. HIst-Her Story is here Elektra, and we have multiple Hamlets.I like Aperghis who finds a center here in the Life n=Death Process, I think all the rough edges of Muller are gone, the raw brital aesthetic dis-aesthetic, disaffected qualities, the unfinished, sketch-like dimensions of Muller's are are Bowed to, yet, gone, WELL, Aperghis makes Hamlet his own, Needs to, Muller's words still ring in the rubble, stil gets buried someplace in Europas destruction, well, Muller claims to be the Last German Writer. I don know has meaning reached that plateau, have we lost transgressed beyond a certain Point, irretreiavble from CIVIL ization? Question Mark, The Work is about an Hour, 58 minutes and 34 Seconds, and I am thinking of sending this to a friend in Germany, but they have had enough Muller I suppose. HamletMAchine is primary work, and I was lead from this to youtube to search out productions. This Aperghis is rather tame by comparison, perhaps because it has been transformed into a music piece, and music has its own Rules & Regulations to adhere, no matter what you claim to be an DO. . . .
