DK Eyewitness Travel Guides: the most maps, photographs, and illustrations of any guide.
"Known… for its four-color maps, photos and illustrations, the [DK] Eyewitness Guides are extremely user-friendly for travelers who want their information delivered in a concise, visual way." — Chicago Tribune
"The best option… Color photos, maps, and diagrams bring the place to life." — The Philadelphia Inquirer
The surprising thing is that the "Top 10" version seems to have *more* information, and that information is MUCH better organized. Granted, there are longer entries in the larger, heavier version on some of the specific museums. But the smaller, lighter version seems to list more stuff overall and in terms of finding out about the best gardens to go do, the best museums to go to, etc., the "Top 10" version is simply much more useful. And it is smaller and lighter. So I recommend buying it instead. It's a great guide to Tokyo.
The book is also full of mistakes: for ex. the main paragraph on Tsukiji Fish Market locates it on the Map at 5C4, but it brings you completely to the wrong place, only by going to the index does it give the correct information at K9.
The suggested itineraries if you have 2 or 4 days in Tokyo partially cover attractions that are not considered vital and it leaves me wondering what the people behind this book were thinking.
I wish I could return it but I started writing in it.
I am very disappointed.
