The daughter of a respected horse healer, 14 year-old Amy has a powerful connection with horses. With her mother's help, she is developing her skills as a horse whisperer while tending to the animals at Heartland, a refuge for horses that have been emotionally or physically traumatized. But when her mother is killed in a tragic trailer accident, Amy realizes she will never see her world the same way again.
" Some pretty amazing things happen here, don't they Amy?
Heartland is a special place. "
I almost never like the series as well as the books, whether I watch the series or read the books first usually makes no difference. The series was geared to a broader audience, I found there was a little something for everyone. The book was made for a younger audience, I found it a very lack-luster immature read with not much going on. It was slow, and stimulated zero brain waves for me.. for a tween aged girl I'm sure it would be riveting, a 25 year old? not even a little bit... possibly just bad book picking on my part, I just thought it would be similar to the series and It was not. if your over 12 save your money..
