The Charles Dickens Miscellany is a great little book full of information about Dickens the man and his novels. The book is divided into three sections (biographical information about Dickens; an outline of the novels and other writings, and a wide variety of 'themes' that run through Dickens' works. This book would be of particular interest to individuals with little prior knowledge of Dickens and his world who are keen to find out more. Hard core Dickens fans will also find plenty of 'new' facts about Dickens that are not always covered in traditional biographies. Jeremy Clarke is to be congratulated for his refreshing approach to Dickens's world and writings.
